Tackling Food Waste

Tackling Food Waste

This month, Waitrose join supermarket giants, Tesco and M&S, in an attempt to reduce food waste by removing best-before dates on fresh food produce.

The idea behind this change is to encourage shoppers to use their own judgment as to whether the food is still good to eat, so that unnecessary food waste can be avoided.

In January, Morrisons supermarket prompted their customers to use a ‘sniff test,’ when they removed the best before dates from their own brand milk.
